Did you knew... The Pokémon Jigglypuff was only added in Smash Bros 64, because they needed to add some secret characters, and Jigglypuff was chosen, because they could just reuse Kirby's model + some of the animations? Besides that, this Pokémon got quite popular at that time, also due to the Anime, hence why it was the perfect choice back then. They did thought about using Clefairy instead, but went with Jigglypuff, since it fit the game better and most work was already done thanks to Kirby.
