- Two new mentors arrive for the season!
- Sludge Magic Mentor Galligo will be available until March 31st. Pasta plans an updated reference that includes shifting markings (to allow for more freedom when drawing the stripes) as well as a back view!
- Nature Mentor Felten will be available until May 31st as she is a Spring seasonal mentor!
- Thank you to Smouhfy -Mayday- Muy Lokidokiarts for their help on the mentors and their respective items! And thank you to Pasta and HJeojeo for their mentor designs!

GENERAL UPDATES
- Admin Applications will be put out within the next week in its own news post! We will be searching for new admin to help with design checks and general moderation as well as possible assistance in other roles if able!
- The Human Teeth trait has been moved from Illegal to Unseen Affliction. This trait can be swapped to from existing Unseen Affliction traits, purchased through customs, or used on official adopts. Any design created by admin that was once locked due to having human teeth may now be freely traded.
- Co-Owned designs have had some adjustments to how they can be used in the ARPG. Older versions of co-ownership from the prior ARPG testing noted that users could not use their co-owned designs at all for ARPG related activities but this has been somewhat updated. Certain aspects will still remain this way but see below for changes!
- Co-Owned characters may be used by any member to participate in Monthly, Mainstay, Journey, Seasonal, and Gathering prompts. Both owners can submit these prompts as normal.
- Co-Owned characters can gain the gift bonus for anyone that is not the listed owners and follow standard gift art rules
- Co-Owned characters cannot participate in magic training prompts or mentorship, nor can they gain per-character magic bonuses unless they already have them. If they already have magic or a defect, both owners may use this bonus.
- A general reminder that new co-ownerships cannot be formed, and that any unofficial co ownerships are outside the domain of administration. Any issues must be handled owner to owner. As well, Skire cannot adjust pre-existing co-ownerships without both owners being present and able to agree aside from one side relinquishing ownership to the other.
- Dailies have been reverted to their previous loot table as of 01/25/2026
- Crafting items have now had a site sell feature implemented!

Roadmap 2026
Following our Crafting, Gathering, and Ichor testing period this last October/November, we plan to focus our time into expanding these aspects into 2026. We cannot promise updates on 100% of our activity doing these things as development occurs when staff have the time. Please understand we are all volunteers! These dates/estimates are subject to change and may not appear as listed below. They are marked here with their current status.
CRAFTING/GATHERING
Crafting/Gathering will be our priority this year with a soft release planned in May alongside an event. A soft release means that more locations, recipes, uses, and gathering options will expand and develop as time goes on.
- IN PROGRESS - GATHERING - IDEAL MAY RELEASE
- PROMPTS - There will be 9 prompts users can gather materials in, with 9 unique locations associated with them. We're working on developing the amount of times gathering can be done within a given timeframe. Meaning there will be a limit on a number of submissions allowed from the 9 gathering prompts that can be submitted within that timeframe; likely 3 prompts per. However, this means users will be able to gather multiple times from a singular location if they please!
- MAGIC INTEGRATION - A skirean's magic will influence bonus loot tables a location may have! One of the big things in development here will be the automated checking of a character's magic in order to factor in magic levels (see Site Features!). It is possible that not every magic will give a benefit at the beginning, as certain locations will cater to specific magic types.
- LOOT TABLES - Developing loot tables for each location alongside their specific magic bonuses will require a lot of mathing! This includes general drop rate overviews, which items drop where, what each magic does for the location, etc. Locations will have different elements that can grant extra loot tables, which will allow them to drop different items depending on what magic a character has.
- FORAGING - The Foraging Extension is in consideration for an event-based and more passive chance to gather crafting items! This addon is installed.
- FETCH QUESTS - Fetch quests we would like to utilize in a similar fashion to how we did during Explore the Core, where an NPC gives currency and a crafting item back in exchange for one you have!
- LOCATION INFO - We aim for a release of 6 additional locations so that Magic, Magitech, and Tech gathering have a wider variety of locations to be gathered in. This is to occur over the upcoming months in staggered release. These will appear similarly to our current location setup. Descriptions and art are currently in progress!
- ENCYCLOPEDIA - We plan to have detailed encyclopedia entries for each location utilizing the Lorekeeper Extension World Expansion. This may alternately come in the form of our current lore page. This depends on the time allotted to admin for conversion to the new system but will allow for an easier to update system.
- MENTOR SHOPS - The possibility of having Mentors sell items is under discussion! They have this capability due to their original framework built by Pasta!
- HIRED TEAMS - These items/tools are still a WIP in their mechanics, and may not release with the official crafting release. They may function like wards when attached to gathering prompts or they may function differently! The general goal is a crown-purchasable option to boost gathering.
- CRAFTING ITEMS - We still have many older crafting items to be uploaded and used in future recipes, as well as making more as needed.
- INTEGRATIONS - Crafting items WILL integrate into existing features like boxes, event prizes, weeklies, etc. Certain boxes have been reverted as well as the current daily.
- TOOLS - Tools are a proposed item type that have a specific use case (Example being the bauble from the Explore the Core event being a specific item for that specific recipie!) These may not release with initial crafting release.
- IN PROGRESS - FISHING - TENTATIVE JULY RELEASE
- FISHING EVENT - Prepared in advance by Sweet-n-treat, this event is planned alongside the release of fishing as its own unique type of gathering
- PROMPT - A fishing specific prompt that will function similar to gathering.
- FISHING ITEMS - fishing crafting items you may also recall from the first ARPG test. These are all complete! More may appear with time.
- COIN POOL - A daily that will function similar to the current weekly. This will be able to be done per allotted time for one crown. The user will always recieve at least one crown back, and that may be the only thing! It has a chance to drop fishing items and other goodies at a rare rate.
- BAIT - Similar to hired teams, but for fishing prompts! Asset art for these are complete but mechanics are WIP!
- IN PROGRESS - RECIPIES
- Recipie Development - We are working on new and different recipies! This includes determining how much should go into a specific type of crafted item (traits, etc) as well as specific conversion recipies (Converting multiple T1 items into a T2, for example). Many of these recipies will call for use of existing trait items as well for those you may not be able to find a personal use for!
- Recipie Distribution - We are workshopping the options for distributing recipies. Some will be mainstay unlocks available for everyone, and some may be earnable via exploration or prompts. Maybe even craftable themselves! These methods of unlocking may appear differently, in tandem with one another, or as listed and will also develop over time.
- Current recipies will remain available until they next rotate, which will occur during the crafting release.
SITE FEATURES

- IN PROGRESS - V3 Update
- Progress is being made towards upgrading the site to the current release of lorekeeper, which is currently priority before any other progress on site features. Merging in all code should be done by the end of January, but bug testing and fixes may take longer. This update will also fix a few existing bugs!
- FINALIZING - Item/Ticket Trait Toggle
- Code for marking a trait as item used/ticket used via a dropdown option has been completed and just needs some final additions! This should free up the space for trait notes to be used as intended.
- UPCOMING - Gathering Mechanics
- Implementing custom code for automated elemental gathering bonuses is planned after the V3 update is fully tested and implemented! This would allow characters to passively unlock gathering bonuses and allow for less things an admin needs to manually check.
- We will also be updating the Scavenging extension and testing character-based table rolling!
- Alongside this, custom category-based prompt limits will be coded and tested.
- UPCOMING - General QOL
- After the minimum for scavenging is tested and implemented, we will be looking into some QOL for existing features such as automated wards and inkwells. Not all may be able to be implemented, but the goal is to reduce the amount of admin actions and wait needed for ones that can be streamlined!
- The Crafting extension will also be getting an update to allow crafting with all items of a certain rarity tier as well as a revisit to look at what else could be spruced up!
- As always, various layout upgrades and mobile compatibility updates will be added over time!
- New features are always being discussed and planned for the horizon! The things outlined here are only the focus for 2026 and what is being aimed for within this year barring any setbacks or unexpected complexities.
OTHER
- EVENTS - Events will continue as admin have the time! We have three larger events in development for the course of the year and smaller ones in between.
- MAGIC UPDATES - Updates to magic payouts in both crowns as well as EXP are in discussion and something we ideally want to push within the next month! We want to evaluate making magic feel a bit more worth it in terms of its abilities and bonuses beyond upcoming crafting bonuses.
- ICHOR - Ichor will be the larger focus after crafting! Consistent earning, wards, special items, etc!
- MAINSTAY PROMPTS - We aim to put out one or two new mainstay prompts this year!
- MINI PROMPTS - We aim to put out mini prompts when admin time allots, similar to the anniversary headshot prompt that have differing requirements and payouts.
- BADGE PROGRESSION/EXPLORATION - Badge progression is a hopeful small collection reward for things like completing specific prompts! An example could be that completing the Spirit of Gifting prompt 5, 10, 50, etc times will grant a levelled up gifting badge/potential prize! Alternatively, collecting a specific set of crafting items, wards, trait items, etc can reward you with a badge or reward. This is an addition we would like but have no set time frame for as we prioritize crafting. They may roll out slowly! For prompt related ones they would be granted retroactively via claim.
- GRAVENT + NAUTIPOD TRAIT UPDATE - The Gravent trait update is wrapping up! Expect to see it somewhat soon. Then we will be reviewing Nautipod Traits!
- ALTERNATE FORMS - We are in backburner developments of new "Motley" forms for crooks and gravents!
- ALWAYS IN PROGRESS - Item art! Items will still drop relatively consistently.
- GENERAL REMINDER - There are far many other aspects of the ARPG we have desired, discussed/are discussing, and are hoping to make happen or bring into reality for general activity or function. Currently we do not have hard dates for other elements nor the knowledge if they are truly feasible regarding time/code/synergy with existing things, but! That is to say that there are ideas or plans and general hopes we have thought of and want to happen that may not be outlined here! This is mainly because it's unclear when it will be done, as it could occur outside of 2026 or generally appear unexpectedly more possible to happen sooner as we develop and figure out our ability as a team and individuals to do so. We thank you for your patience and excitement for the ARPG and for all of the amazing new prompt and design submissions we see daily. We're learning as we go, but that's nothing new to how Skire has always done. We're just as excited to see what can happen, and we would appreciate that users avoid making comments speculating dates. We do understand the excitement for many elements but certain things like all listed above will take priority until they are succesfully pushed!
