Sildi is a rather young cccat, only having been formed for roughly five years. They formed in the cold recess of snowy mountains, having latched onto a mangled, dying snowy owl. While forming, they wailed in pain as their arms didn't form correctly. Their screaming led to Cornelius finding them. He took them in, giving them a place of solace to finish forming inside his cabin. Sildi stays there for a few days, getting their bearings, before Cornelius decides he'll take them in and raise them. Sildi had attempted speaking with Cornelius, but nothing seemed to work, especially not their vocal cords. Realizing this, Cornelius gave Sildi his myriad of books he kept in the cabin, helping to teach the young cccat how to read, which would eventually lead to learning to write and draw.

"Do you have a name for yourself?" Cornelius had asked them, to which Sildi realized they had no name for months. They had only really thought of themselves as "it." At their lack of response, Cornelius had come up with something, "what about... Sildi? It is a similar word to a group of humans who communicate via whistles." Sildi wasn't sure if this is what cccats normally did; do they let others name them? But, at this point, SIldi had already imprinted in their mind that Cornelius was practically their dad. They agreed to the name.

In the coming months to a year, Cornelius and Sildi had worked out a slightly unique style of caster speak sign language, having to improvise slightly to make up for their distorted arms. Sildi would read, write, and draw with what Cornelius provided in the cabin, which was practically a library at that point, full of knowledge and notes from his own travels. Reading so much about the world, Sildi wanted to go out and venture it. There was very little persuading to Cornelius before he agreed, seeming to not mind losing his hermit title. After having Sildi learn water magic through reading, and ice magic taking them to the mentor, they set out on their travels.

In this day, it's not uncommon to hear of a travelling duo; the failed ice mentor traveling with a young cccat with strange arms. If they happen to be in your area, Sildi is most likely to come up to you to make friends!
