🌱ELDER's MYO QUESTLINE🌱

Across Skire, a new journey begins every single day. Every species navigates these days differently, as individuals and together, and lead rich lives. In an effort to bring the species of Skire closer together, the Elder has gathered four Skireans, each special in their own way, with unique experiences that shape their existences. He gave each one a seedlet, a representation of endless possibilities, sending them out to cultivate each one, in hopes that one day these seedlets would become as grand as his own home tree. 

Thank you to all the hard work put in by the team to create this questline! This questline is able to be completed once by all users, and comes alongside a guidebook to getting started on the site. Meet each of the four species and explore the land of Skire by completing each questing prompt, exploring by creating visual art or writing. This quest consists of four prompts that can be completed with NPCs or as gift art. Each will earn a series of unique currencies called4-icon.pngSeedlets, culminating in aSaplingSapling that you can use to purchase one of two options, all detailed below.

The Elder's MYO Questline is completable once per user. The slot, premade, and tickets that come from these prompts cannot be transferred and are permanently bound to the user, and cannot be sold, traded, gifted, or turned in to the yearly turn in. Please keep this in mind when completing the quests. 

There is no time limit to complete this questline, so please take your time to read over and understand the details. Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the disclaimers, as by participating you agree to the terms of these prompts. ❗❗❗Everything earned from this prompt is account bound! SPECIES PROMPTS

Explore the four species of Skire. These prompts can each be completed ONCE and in ANY ORDER. They each grant 1 SeedletSeedlet Currency that can be spent at the Elder's Abode. You will recieve a total of FOUR SeedletSeedlets  from the quest that you may spend at your discretion. 

Each prompt grants full crown payout as well as 1 SeedletSeedlet Currency.

CCCat - The Self
  • Discover what makes each being unique! The path one takes often leads identity to emerge.
Crook - To Adapt
  • Overcome difficulty and adversity, and how that forms who one is.
Gravent - Connection
  • The connections formed in life will lead us to countless new places. 
Nautipod - Beginnings
  • A fresh start or a new beginning happens countless times in one's life. 


FINALIZATION PROMPT

This prompt may only be completed once the previous four species prompts are completed! This prompt grants full crown payout as well as 1 SaplingSapling Currency. The Sapling may be spent at one of two places, detailed further below. Please note that you must choose from either a MYO Slot or a Premade from the Crossroads.

SPENDING CURRENCIES

SeedletSeedets - Can be spent at the Elder's Abode on account bound trait tickets.
SaplingSapling - You receive 1 SaplingSapling for completing the entire questline. It can be spent on a MYO Slot at the Elder's Abode OR a Premade Design at the Crossroads. You do not have any time limit to make this choice, but once the Sapling is spent it cannot be refunded or returned. Please carefully consider your choice before making it!

We highly encourage you to follow the Scavenger Hunt first as it grants a ward that can be used only on the prompt! The prompt experiments with a new payout value type and requirements.

Create any art themed around springtime for this prompt for STANDARD PAYOUT and a random chance at some new gift boxes that center our more spring themed items.

  • This prompt has a chance to drop one of two gifts, each with different themes to their drop possibilities.

  • Pattern Shifting Eye for Crooks allows EACH eye affected by the trait to have 5 unique patterns. Each individual eye can have unique patterns, and do not need to match
  • Added Living Tongue as an Unseen Affliction
  • Added Floating Cluster Eye as an Oddity trait
  • Split Tendrils and Shaped Tendril Tip have been clarified:
    • Split Tenrils - Allows for a twin tendril split as well as shorter, forked splits
    • Shaped Tendril Tip - Shaped tendril tip can effect the split tips of a tendril, and allowing both tips to display a shape
  • Added Odd Shaped Tendrils as a Myth trait.
  • Linked Tendrils has been downgraded from Myth to Rare, and all instances have been granted x1 Myth trait
  • Floating Tendril Piece has been downgraded from Myth to Rare, and all past instances have been granted x1 Myth trait
  • Metallic, Opalescent, and Glowing Tendril have been downgraded from Rare to Uncommon, and all instances have been granted x1 Rare trait
  • Metallic, Opalescent, and Glowing Eyes have been downgraded from Rare to Uncommon, and all instances have been granted x1 Rare trait
  • Tendrils on Head + Elsewhere on Body have been dissolved and grants +1 Oddity to applicable designs
  • Any designs that were updated to include any upgraded traits will only receive that respective trait only if the original design also has it. The design can keep the trait as it currently appears as long as it is not redesigned or reverted. Upgraded traits do not grant unused traits.

  • STARTER GUIDE - New to Skire? This starter guide will give you insight on how to get started with earning crowns and working towards your first Skire Character! We're glad to have you!
  • ACCOUNT TOS - Please keep in mind our site rules. Funneling of any kind is not allowed! You may of course send gifts to friends, but excessive funneling of free or reduced gifts from one account to another is against the rules. 
  • MAGIC - Concepts for a change to magic training have begun! These concepts will likely come in a future update, and are in development thanks to Pasta!
  • CRAFTING -  Crafting will begin its next steps soon!
  • OTHER UPDATES/FEATURES - We have a lot of pieces to put into place for future large projects! They intermingle quite a bit, but we are working when we can to develop these!
  • ITEM SORTING - A few new item sorting customizations have been added thanks to Pasta! This includes rarities, trait tags, and a species tag!
  • NEW ITEMS - Three new wards and two new boxes have been released!
  • POD TRAIT IMAGES - Pod trait images have been uploaded thanks to Pasta! Some are still missing but will be added slowly over time.

Hi all! We are in the long process of going through traits to update and clarify their descriptions! We've finished with CCCats as you'll see below, but we will update this post as we finish other species as well! Please refer below to what new larger updates you can find in the traits. Thank you to the team for all the hard work and discussion to get this updated! There are so many updates that we cannot place them all here, but we will place the most important ones here! Do check out each CCCat Trait for details! 

Ideally our new formatting will allow for quicker updates if new rules and clarifications are added to the traits!

General Notes
  • Any traits that had a downgrade in rarity or were consolidated will grant a free trait that you may use for any trait within the respective rarity or lower when updating the design. These cannot be moved from one design to another and are not able to be traded in for trait tickets, and will remain bound to the design
  • Any designs that were updated to include any upgraded traits will only receive that respective trait only if the original design also has it. The design can keep the trait as it currently appears as long as it is not redesigned or reverted. Upgraded traits do not grant unused traits.
  • Trait items will now allow for you to change the trait within the bounds of what the item grants during redesigns [Example: If using the Bittersweet Truffles to apply Heart Eyes to a Nautipod, you may switch that trait to X eyes when redesigning, as that trait is granted by the item, and can still apply to the character]

CCCats

  • Goat Eye will be updated to Square Pupil and will be expanded to allow squares, rectangles, and diamonds, on top of the standard allowed for goat eye.
  • Needle Teeth will be merged into Overgrown Teeth.
  • Overgrowth Teeth may use Saber/Tusk/Tipsy Turvy/Snaggletooth without the need for additional traits.
  • Crown Placement Traits
    • Crowns on Face/Cheeks can include Crowns on Forehead, and Crowns in common placements without additionally needing the trait.
    • Crowns on Lower Body may also include crowns on the Face/Cheeks, Crowns on Forehead, and Crowns in common placements without additionally needing the traits
    • Crowns on Head and Elsewhere on Body will be dissolved and granted +1 Touched to applicable designs.
  • Pattern Shifting Eye has had its definition expanded
    • If the base color of the eye changes, the patterns must include ALL of the used colors
    • If the base color remains the same, the pupil patterns may have differing colors.
  • Unseen Eye and Tongue traits will all allow for the design to have Dead Eye or Dead Tongue colors without the need for the trait additionally
  • Multiple Eyes/Tongues (4-10) has been expanded to allow ONE instance of a trait to apply to all of the Eyes/Tongues [Example: If you have x1 instance of Metallic Eye, you may apply Metallic Eye to ALL eyes]
  • Floating Body Piece (Touched) has been expanded to allow 11-20 pieces. and the Unseen variant has been expanded to allow 21-30 pieces
  • Unused Unseen Traits may only use Unseen traits that are listed on the trait list OR exist currently on a design. New unseen traits cannot be created using an Unused Unseen.
  • Object Growth on Tongue has been merged into Object Tongue, which now encompasses both expressions of the trait.
  • Hallowed has been downgraded to Touched
  • Separated Wormling has been upgraded to Unseen
  • Headless - Mouth appearing on neck is now OPTIONAL
  • Shaped Eye - Shaped Eye is a new trait at Unseen rarity that will allow the CCCat's eye to be a non-round shape.
  • Extras Traits
    • Extra Limbs adds two pairs of limbs (4 additional limbs) to the body  per instance of the trait. This count does not include the default limbs (arms and back legs) and adds to the total of limbs. Can be either arms or legs
    • Extra Mouths now adds x2 mouths per instance of the trait on top of the default mouth.
    • Unusable Limbs now adds x2 pairs of Unusable Limbs per instance of the trait
    • Wings now adds x2 pairs of wings per instance of the trait
  • Multi-Form Eye/Tongue now allows for one instance of a trait to effect the eye in both forms [Example: If you have x1 instance of Metallic Eye, you may apply Metallic Eye to the eye in both forms]
  • Inanimate Host no longer allows for the body to be replaced by Stone, Crystal, Solid Metal [Meaning solid metal, does not apply to robotic hosts or armor hosts], unless it is replacing the ENTIRE body. These can be applied via Earth Defect or Metal Defect.
  • Second Set of Colors can be stacked, meaning that every additional instance of the trait grants x1 additional palette.
  • Color Changing Markings Update - The three color rule has been removed, but we have defined the trait further as detailed below
    • Can only be applied to a defined marking, meaning it should not apply to pure gradients
    • Marking that change color can have gradients
    • No restriction on the number of colors, but colors can still only have one additional alternate color.
    • Cannot apply to all markings on the body
    • Color Changing Coat still applies to the base coat only
    • Cannot be stacked
  • Object Growth applying specifically to plants has been further defined.
  • Split Tail has been updated to allow for the following
    • Rare - 2-10 Splits | Previously was Rare - 2-5 Splits
    • Myth - 11-20 Splits | Previously was Myth - 6-10 Splits
    • Touched - 21-40 Splits | Previously was Touched - 11-15 Splits
    • Splits apply across ALL tails.
  • Glowing/Opalescent/Sparkling/Metallic Markings Update - The three color rule has been removed, and rules have expanded as detailed below
    • Any color on the body are affected by these marking types as long as the WHOLE coat is not effected.
  • Glowing/Opalescent/Sparkling/Metallic Coat Update -
    • ALL colors on the body are affected by these marking types AND the CCCat may for example have the Glowing Teeth, Glowing Tongue Markings, Glowing Eye, and all extras such as Crowns, Claws, and Horns/Spikes

❄️Other Updates❄️

  • UPCOMING PROMPT SCHEDULE - As mentioned last month in our updates, we are working to transition towards a more freeform event schedule. This means that you may see events that start in the middle of the month, and not exactly on monthly rollover!  This is to give us more time to focus on larger development projects such as crafting, which have been harder to manage alongside large events with tight deadlines, as much as we would love to have the time to do it all, it has not been feasible to do both due to the sheer volume of work that goes in to every event, even the smaller ones.
    • You may see some newer event styles, different prize types, and there may be downtime without an event.
    • This winter prompt is the first of our seasonal prompts which will develop with time, as will many other aspects of the ARPG as more larger scale additions can be released.
    • December and January tend to be busier months for everyone and thus our prompt release is intended to be more relaxed!
    • We appreciate community understanding as we work towards these larger ARPG goals! Your support over the last year has been enedlessly integral to everything we do. We can't wait for even more!

Skire Turn In 2024 + Locking Update

Welcome to the 2024 Skire Design Exchange! This turn-in is for those wishing to exchange an existing Skire design for a blank MYO slot or trait tickets. The designs received from this exchange will be re-raffled off to the community as they are, or redesigned by Admin before re-raffling. Please read the rules below to learn if you are eligible for exchange!

Exchange Rules

  • This Exchange will only be open for ONE WEEK [November 16th, 2024 -> November 23rd, 2024 at 11:59:59 UTC]. Those chosen for the exchange will be contacted once the form closes!
  • Be absolutely SURE when submitting that you’re wanting to exchange the Skire design, as once it has been confirmed that your character has been chosen and the exchange confirmed, it cannot be undone!
  • This is not first come first serve, and designs will be evaluated and chosen to check if requirements are met.
  • If you submit a character into the exchange, you cannot enter the raffle for the design that you personally exchanged.
    There will be a limited set of designs taken, somewhere between 10-20 designs depending on submissions.
    • By submitting, it does not guarantee an exchange will happen. If submissions go over the amount of designs we are taking this year, there is a chance that your exchange may not make it into this count. Those chosen will be contacted when the booth closes if their exchange was accepted.
  • A user can only exchange one Skirean: a Premade design, an unused MYO slot, or a completed MYO design.
  • In order for a design to be considered for exchange, you must have owned the design for a minimum of 3 months.
  • If a design has a Toyhouse, then it’ll be transferred to the Skire Toyhouse should the design be chosen for the exchange.
  • A design can not be exchanged if it has any Touched Traits and above.

Our amazing coder Pasta has created a new locking extension that will now allow users to lock designs on their own! Please take a look at the details below regarding how to use this lock function, and thank you to pasta for their hard work always!!

REMINDER! LOCKING CANNOT BE UNDONE FOR ANY REASON UNTIL 180 DAYS HAVE PASSED. PLEASE ONLY LOCK A DESIGN IF YOU ARE COMPLETELY SURE OF IT!
  • Under your character's masterlist entry, navigate to the Edit Profile tab to find the lock button [Guide Below].
  • Characters will be locked and have their cooldown set to 180 days. During this time the design cannot be transferred for any reason. The design will not be shown as sellable or tradable and be locked to the user until the lock date has passed. The user is then required to unlock the design themselves 
  • You must still agree to our locking terms. These will be displayed as a popup on the locking page that requires agreement before proceeding. THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE UNTIL 180 DAYS HAVE PASSED
  • Legacy Locks (meaning you locked with an admin agreeing to the terms) are still completely valid! They will need to be unlocked manually by the mods when the time frame is up, so you will still need to reach out to do so. If you plan to unlock afterwards, please do not additionally use the new lock function as it will restart the lock cooldown.

Navigate to your character's profile and click "Edit Profile"

Scroll down to the button that says "Lock Character" and click

WAHOO This is the official slot sale post now! Details about the slot sale happenings are below and also found in the previous news post from yesterday, but otherwise the form itself is now here:

BASIC INFO v
  • BASIC INFO:
    • There will be a google form I request individuals to fill out for this! It will be included in the second news post for the sale proper.

    • This will open up on the 6th of November, however will remain open until all slots are filled. The sale news post will inform if the form is still open or not.

    • All slots are claimed via First-Come, First-Served and will be selected by timestamp order.

    • Only N/O users have their own unique section for slots, once the N/O slots have been filled, if any lingering N/Os claimed earlier than any FFA slots via timestamp, N/Os get pooled into the FFA slots as priority.

    • After 24 hours since the forms opened, any unfilled N/O slots get turned into FFA slots and will go in timestamp order once again without need for re-submission of the form.

    • Until 24 hours have passed, one person may only get one slot. Once I alert to the allowance of multiple slots, then you may re-fill the form for a second slot. I will not grant a second slot until the form is re-filled after this notice, so duplicate form submissions before this time will not count.

    • Another person may ask to claim a slot for one other person - Someone else may pay for your slot as well. Please clarify that within the form or within a note, but ideally the form!

        • There will be a raffle in our CCCat discord opening at roughly the same time for 10 additional slots, this raffle is free to enter and free to win, per usual with our raffles. 5 Slots will be dedicated N/O slots and 5 will be FFA slots, however these slots allow the winner to choose the species they want once they win. All of these slots are considered Standard slots with 1 Rare trait + 2 Uncommon traits.

        • If you apply to this MYO slot sale as a N/O and get a slot and win the N/O discord raffle afterwards, please know we will re-roll your slot for a different N/O user.

        • Entry is as easy as responding to a discord bot via a reaction added to its message and waiting. The bot will do the rest!

      • You need a Skire.Club account to claim and own a MYO slot.
        Contact will be through Skire.Club on confirmation of your slot and payment method!

      • The form will be First-Come-First-Served.

      • Only one slot per person within the first 24 hours. You can have one other person help you claim a slot, but if that person wishes to claim a slot for themselves they need to resubmit the form again.

      • Slots will be Standard 1R 2UC for $100, Myth slots will be $300 for 1M 2R 2UC
        Myth MYO slots will require you to pick your species upon purchase!

      • There are 27 Standard MYO Slots for Non-Owners, 27 Standard MYO slots for Free for All with an additional 6 Myth slots under Free for All.  A total of 60 slots!

      • You cannot get a myth and a standard slot within the first 24 hours; it is considered multiple! You can after 24 hours have passed.

      • After 24 hours since post, if the slots have not been filled then secondary slots will be open for people who wish to buy multiple.

        • Standard slots will be an item that allows you to pick your species at any point.

        • Myth slots must be chosen before given the slot and do not yet have a choice item!

        • As a reminder, once you choose your species you cannot reverse this decision. Only select once you are sure!

    • You cannot get a myth and a standard slot within the first 24 hours; it is considered multiple! You can after 24 hours have passed.

      • You may NOT trade the slot until it has been given an approved design.

      • Gifting a slot must be stated before payment is sent or upon claiming. If you wish to keep the gift anonymous/secret to the person you’re gifting it to, please tell me in the note when I ask for your paypal email to invoice.

      • After you create your Skire design and it has been approved, you have a 2 week cooldown till you can trade/sell the character. Remember to only ever resell for what you bought it for!
        *Important to remember: Our rules have always allowed you to resell a character for higher than you bought it for if you confirm proof of purchase any commissioned pieces you personally have bought of your character with an admin.

      • There is NO time limit to complete your MYO.

      • You MAY have others help you design your slot.

      • You may also have someone design your slot for you! Please make sure they follow the rules to the slot and species, however! 

      • Please: do not post your design publicly until it has been accepted/approved and has gotten its written approval by an admin! In order to get your slot approved you must note the group!!
        *If you commission someone to design your slot for you then you may show us proof of the purchased commission and have it added to your character's resale price.

      • *Your slot will NOT be approved if it is recognized to be heavily influenced by/duplicating a pre-existing character from either a personal OC or a franchise - additionally hateful themes or imagery against minorities (racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, etc.) will not be tolerated and will not be approved and could risk you being graylisted or banned from the species.

      • If your design is approved and then found to be heavily referencing or duplicating a pre-existing character after it is approved then you may still be asked to change it after the fact. If the design changes hands and is later recognized then the creator will likely be spoken to, but the new owner of the design may not be requested to change the design as they were not the ones responsible for creating it and we don't feel it right to punish/request change from them if they don't/didn't know. This may change case-by-case depending on severity of the issue.

IT'S  LATE  BUT IT'S RUNDOWN TIME!! This got delayed because I got sick and had to recover and then I've been helping my partner recover a surgery TwT So thank you guys for the patience!!
This is pretty similar to last year's slot sale system but I always like to give a day-before rundown of what to expect so that it's a little less jarring for people to see the sales go live!

This news post is to prep people for the sale - A different news post will created that is NOT this news post with the google form to apply to the slot sale when it's live!
This post will detail the time, date, and other necessary info for the sales!

This journal is purely to let others know what to expect and when it will happen. It will be pretty similar to how it goes every year, but for the sake of letting any new members know the ropes, here’s the breakdown!

  • FOUR total prompts will roll out on a WEEKLY basis at rollover (Sundays at 00:00:00 Site Time UTC).
  • Prompts can be completed in any order, but their lore is sequential.
  • Completing all four prompts will grant a completion badge, to be revealed in a subsequent week.
  • You may still complete the prompts after the next has come out, and an additional month in November to complete them all.
  • Certain prompts will grant ICHOR from their completion at a random amount. The earning of this currency will do damage to a world boss... Stay tuned as the story progresses...
    • EVENT PROMPTS - Deal the 2-15 damage - 5 Guaranteed from Stargazer's Trunk
    • WEEKLY COSTUME PROMPT - Deals 1-7 damage
    • SPIRIT OF GIFTING - Deals 1-5 damage + a CURSED COIN PURSE to replace current bonus item
    • MAINSTAY PROMPTS - Deals 1-3 damage
    • MAGIC BONUSES - Depicting magic in your prompts will grant bonus damage equal to the level of the magic used. Applies to any prompt labelled with 🪐 that allows magic bonuses. Magic does not need to be in season, and regardless of magic type all magic levels do the same amount of damage. Level one of any magic grants 1 ichor.
    • CRITICAL HITS - The EVENT PROMPTS and COSTUME PROMPT have a chance to do a critical hit. Critical hits do a LARGE amount of damage.
  • Defeating the world boss will unlock a new mystery... It may not be immediate! Keep in mind that the boss is tracked MANUALLY and will need to be updated by admin periodically!
  • ICHOR can be spent at the Distillery to purchase Transit Raffle Tickets any time. 1 ichor equates to 1 raffle ticket.
  • ICHOR can also be spent at the Inkwell once weekly... Perhaps the ichor will have a nice prize laying around...
  • ICHOR will be removed from user banks following the event's conclusion. This will not be the last time you see it! As we work on and test mechanics... Ichor may become more prevalent...
  • Ichor Beasts have begun to run rampant. With this, their strength has been revealed. Keep completing prompts to keep them at bay...
  • THE ICHOR BEASTS HAVE BEEN DEFEATED! Some still appear every so often, but for now... you feel safe... Safe enough to pick up the pieces... The outcome will be soon revealed, somewhere beneath the rubble...

THE SPIRE - 10/28

The rubble has settled, the dust across Skire wafting off into the vast reaches of space. Nothing is the same as it was before, life thrown in countless different directions...

  • A new scavenger hunt has emerged in the wake of the beast's defeat.
  • This scavenger hunt will be available until DECEMBER 28th.
  • No ichor can be obtained from this hunt! Ichor is reserved exclusively for prompts.
  • Some parts of this prompt will be more obvious than others. Look closely...

Mentors emerge - 10/06

In light of looming events, two mentors have wandered from the woodwork. Howwer is quickly on the scene, their jovial personality helpful to lighten the mood in the fray. Their body looks almost as if it is unraveling, but their personality contrasts that, bringing a bit of peace to those in panic. Their powers quickly reverse what damage they can to the world around them, removing rubble and clearing paths. The other is a face-- or lack thereof -- that may be familiar to some: the Faceless Guide. A key role in the banishment, many crooks have seen this CCCat in final terrifying moments before being sent to the Alter World, and for most that memory burns fresh in their mind. Many have only heard tales of him, a fearsome and evil creature. Now, he comes with renewed intentions. Meek and to many, a coward, the Faceless Guide has only been spoken of in legend for many years, those whispers growing louder since the last Gala of Ghouls. For the first time in countless years, he has come to instruct. With mounting danger facing Skire with the emergence of the titan, Faceless has reluctantly welcomed those serious enough to train. Be warned, he refuses to teach certain magics, vowing never to give the ability to create alternate dimensions and worlds, nor anything able to cause such mass destruction and harm. Some say he has a guilty conscious, and its not hard to see it on his face. Still, you sense his fear of death still prevails...

  • Space and Time magic are now trainable! Both magics are ADVANCED and can be trained up to level 5. Be aware, these magics can be incredibly difficult!
  • Space and Time magic crown bonuses will be granted throughout the event! Check out the MAGICS page for payout details!
  • Howwer and Faceless will be available for INITIATION through the duration of the event. 
  • Space and Time magic will grant ichor damage as well equal to their listed level!

Part 1 - The Forewarning

 

The earthquakes have been plaguing you for a while now.

The first one was just a little shiver; the ground jittering so gently you might not have noticed if it weren’t for the flower vase on your counter shaking like it had taken a soft breeze. Though, there were no windows open, and the cacophony of notifications on your social media feed told you that others had felt it too. Even if it was small, it was all everyone talked about. Quakes were far and few between on Skire.

Two days later there was another one, and people started to get a little worried. Between talk show hosts sharing hopeful theories about the development of a new layer of Uto, all that was on the news was the quakes. You were listening to one of these casts when the room started to shake… violently. Running outside, the ground under your feet seized and swayed as if you were on a boat in rough ocean. You’d never felt anything like this before.

Your neighbor’s distant panicked cries sank to the background of your mind as you stared out over the layers of hills and houses. Even the swaying of the ground becomes secondary, because out of the corner of your eye you saw it.

A strange, dark amalgam was crawling into the yard.

The Nautipods are telling you that Ofae’s magic is out of control. While more reports come in about the earthquakes and the oozing beasts, they say they don’t know anything else. It’s just a feeling they have -being the moon’s children- that Ofae is in distress.

The news says that since the earthquakes started, Ichor Beasts started to appear all over the place. The shrouded creatures came in many shapes; aggressively stalking and even chasing anyone who came near. That thing you saw was one of them. Though they’ve been sighted in the deep wilds before, it was extremely strange to see them wandering in towns, or even densely populated areas.

The worst part of all this is that nobody knows why.

You start to take home extra water and food. You pick up first-aid kits from stores, which is something you’ve never felt like you had to do before. You just have some urgent feeling that you must prepare yourself for, inevitably, whatever happens next. It could be nothing, but you’d rather be ready instead of sorry.

You go about your day as best you can, but you cannot shake the feeling that something is coming. The strange reports of magical fissures around meteor lake do not help either. Chaos slowly swells, the continent unable to ignore the warning signs appearing all around. It almost feels like the world is pending some kind of upheaval. Those more magically inclined have begun their investigations, but many remain unsure of what's to come.

It feels that nobody is immune to the anxiety, Nautipods especially impacted by the weight of what's coming. Their connection to the world's magic is different, drawn often to strange wells of magic unfamiliar to Skire. These fissures crack and shatter the earth, upending homes, displacing many. They pierce deep into the planet, past the crust, beyond... You cannot see far enough down. The magic feels familiar in a way, pulsing like veins from the cracks. Energy erupts with a static that feels almost heavy.

PART 2 - THE EMERGENCE

 

An intense rumble, like a gutteral scream, pierces the air.

You were right to be cautious.

It’s been months since the first quake set off a nearly daily chain of tremors over the entire continent, but despite the fear early on, people have started to become used to it. Aside from the slight feeling of dread, you no longer jump or panic when you feel the ground move. For a moment you think that maybe this is just the new normal for Skire.

You’re asleep when it happens. A jolt wakes you from your slumber, and at first you’re only annoyed. Instead of the quake petering to an end, the shaking only gets more and more intense. You sit up in bed and patiently wait for it to stop. It doesn’t.

As you get out of bed, the glass in your windows shatters covering the floor in glimmering shards. The sound of it triggers your survival mode; and you run out of the room and into the world. Even out here, you can still hear the shattering noise. It’s not just your windows, the land itself seems to be screeching in agony. A chorus of shrieking, crashing, and something reverberating from deep under your feet. It makes you want to cover your ears, but it echoes through your body in a way that can’t be shut out.

A sudden powerful shockwave sends you to your knees; the earth bucking upwards underneath you, as if you’re being shot upwards into space. In the distance, all around you, the earth is breaking. It cracks into pieces with smoke and dust billowing from the fissures. Terrified, your eyes trace the cracks and chasms to one bulging point in the distance. You hope that whoever is nearest those fractures will not be swallowed up alive.

You’re sitting there, mind racing as you try to figure out what will happen next. Then, you see it. Out of the bulging earth, something starts to breach. It’s a strange thing, trying to describe a being of a size you couldn’t begin to fathom exists, but it’s there… jutting upwards like you’re witnessing a mountain being formed in real-time. A Titan, slick with oily Ichor that seeps from it’s body and waterfalls down to the land below, so far below. It crushes whole settlements with its hands as it heaves itself upwards until the crags of its long, shimmering neck touch the sky.

As you crane your own neck back, it opens its jaw and the siren roar pierces deep into your skull.

You wonder if this is the end of the world. You will realize soon that in a way, it is.

A titan has emerged, dripping in a dark and oily substance that floods the land. It consumes everything in its path, drawing in magic and refusing to release it. The fissures burst from around it, massive cracks that span downwards for what seems like forever. From the substance new beasts are birthed, overtaken by it, driven by insatiable hunger for magic. Many do their best to fend them off, but are too consumed.

PART 3 - THE FRACTURING

 

Gravity suddenly flips beneath your feet.

The flood of Ichor cascading off of the Titan infected the land before your very eyes. From it seeped hundreds of beasts, those caught in the flood succumbed to the Ichor quickly. It left behind a throng of creatures none fully solid nor liquid that harassed and attacked any inhabitants they encountered.

It wasn’t long before they reached you. Over the next day your fellow Skireans began to band together. There was nowhere to run because they were everywhere, spawning from the ground and the rivers of muck that crept through the land from the fissures. There wasn’t much else you could do but fight. They seemed to resist magic somehow. Not even devastating magical attacks kept them down for long, so you resorted to attacking them with whatever physical weapon you could get your hands on. Eventually they would be kept at bay, but you were still unsure if they would stay down for good. Even when you felt you’d conquered them all, a new wave of them would soon appear. 


The looming Titan makes you all afraid. Days pass and it continues to climb up out of the earth, dominating the horizon. Attempts at attacking it seemed to be futile. It was just too large; too dangerous to get close, for fear of being swept up in the Ichor yourself.

Through it all, you try not to lose your hope. The idea of this being the new world you live in terrifies and exhausts you. You’re not ready to accept that world, though you’ve lived in it for close to a week. Is this truly how life is now? Have the guardians abandoned you? Your peers cry and huddle in stress every night. Unfortunately, you don’t think there is anything you could say to make it better.

One night as a new wave of Ichor Beasts breaks through your defenses, you and your group abandon your camp and retreat to higher ground. The sharp wail of the Ichor Titan threatens to break your will. What are you to do? What can any of you do?

Another shockwave hits. For a brief moment your heart stops, thinking that maybe another one of those towering beasts is about to appear. Just like that time weeks before, it feels as if the world is falling apart. This time though, you see it happen with your own eyes. A deafening sound like cracking glacial ice echoes from the ground and across the sky, like rolling thunder. Just as you witnessed the Titan ascend into this world, you watch the earth split open to swallow it whole again.

You hold onto each other as gravity shifts. The world feels heavier; sucking you towards the soil under your feet but you can’t look away as the Titan plummets down to whatever hell is underneath. The massive chasm continues to grow in the distance. Further, and further, as if Skire had become a floating island drifting away to safety.

You realize you aren’t dreaming, and this might as well be true. A CCCat near you says as much. You can barely believe what you are hearing.

Eeridi has shattered into pieces.

PART 4 - THE AFTERMATH

 

All that's left is to pick up the pieces.

When you think back about everything that happened, you’re not sure how much time has passed. Everything feels like a blur, yet crystal clear in your mind at the same time.

Yes, Eeridi had shattered. You recall the emotions you felt when that information dawned on you. The world you once knew no longer existed, at least not in the same way you remembered.

Eventually you mustered the courage along with the others to approach the edge of the world as you know it. It made your stomach turn to look down and see a vast expanse of nothing but air, clouds, and Ichor below. Down there, under the mist and mire, you could still see the looming Titan moving like a leviathan across the surface of some inner alien world. You feel dizzy just looking at it.

When you look up you can see other fragments of Eeridi suspended far in the distance. They remind you of the floating islands near Meteor Lake, or Stonewing, though you know these fragments of the planet are much larger than they appear. Whole continents suspended in air… it’s still hard for you to wrap your head around even now.

In the weeks that followed the Shattering, people tried hard to adapt as quickly as possible. You think that if Skire had been less keen on advancement before all this, the change would have been harder for you all. Somehow everyone has found a way to band together and push towards solutions.

The Ichor Beasts still spawn here sometimes. With time you learn that you can predict where they appear if you follow the trail of the Titan below. Guilds have been popping up all over the place with this exact knowledge in mind. They’re training people on how to fight the Ichor Beasts. These guilds go by many names, but they are all sworn to fight back and keep us safe.

The air feels heavier around the edges of Skire, and authorities warn you all, especially those with abilities to fly, not to try and traverse the openings at all. The gravity is too great; able to suck down any craft that attempts to bridge the gaps at land level. The only way to travel from one island to another is from space. Over time you see an explosion of new types of space-faring shuttles and crafts built to ferry people from one island to the next.

It seems daily that you hear new stories of adventuring parties and researchers attempting to go down to the surface below; the “Core Planet” as they’ve been calling it. It seems to you like it’s a death wish to want to go down there, but they keep insisting that the information they gather is priceless. Half of them don’t come back.

Despite the enormous change to your physical world, you find that things are starting to move on like normal. Yes the air is a bit thinner, and the Ichor Beasts can be a tad annoying to deal with, but life goes on. Skireans are resilient beings. You all work hard to repair what has been broken.

Of course, researchers are still trying to figure out why all of this happened. You yourself wonder what the greater meaning of all this is, if there even is one. Everyone everywhere has their own theories. All you can really do is go on with your life, adapt, and hope that nothing worse happens to your precious planet.

Q: Can we ask for an extension on the prompt?
A: No, it is two months long and extending it could delay other prompts.

Q: If I win, can I give my prize away?
A: For fairness, if you win the prize, you may not gift the prize away. You may return your prize to the admin to re-roll the raffle.

Q: Can I enter to try and help someone else win?
A: No, it is not fair for multiple people to enter on behalf of one person. You will not be able to surrender your prize to a specific person.

Q: When will the event end specifically?
A: This prompt's end date is displayed on the prompt itself! Please refer to this section and the website's clock for this time!

Q: When will prizes be raffled off?
A: Anywhere from the next day to a week after the event ends. Rolls are automatic onsite but we will still be announcing them in the Discord!

Q: My entry was denied because it didn’t meet the requirements. Can I fix it and resubmit to try and enter?
A: Yes, as long as this is done so before the event ends. We will not count anything submitted after the event has ended. We allow for a grace period for submissions made in the last 24 hours of the event. In the last 24 hours, to save time, prompts will not be able to be returned for payout corrections and will be approved as is.

Q: Are admin allowed to enter the event and win prizes?
A: Yes, admins are allowed to enter events! However if an admin is rolled for winning a prize, they don’t occupy a member’s chance to win! Another roll will be done so that a member can still win a prize.
