The defect must be removed from the design when submitting with this item, and cannot be added back unless re-trained by a mentor. The design will keep the levels of the magic (and nullified magic if applicable) that it had before it was granted defect [Example: If you roll a magic defect at Fire Magic Level II, and apply that defect, if the defect is removed in the future the design will be returned to Fire Magic Level II]
