As magic has started to return to Skire, the enormous tree long thought to be dead or dying has been showing signs of bloom! The tree was planted in an old battlefield from the early days of CCCat's changing from their Hell Licker stage, a young CCCat planted a seed over the dust and ruin of many a fallen friend and other magical creatures that had died to the human's wrath, and as it grew the sanctuary formed around its shelter. it was given the name Memoria by the CCCat who planted and cared for the sapling. as time passed the tree's roots grew strong, spiraling into the sky and causing a beautiful forest to grow around it. The rapid growth brought humans to try and cut back the spreading trees, however a growing hive of CCCats defended the forest with every bit of power and magic they could conjure. The battle left scars upon the tree that to this day have not fully healed, but afterwards by the tree's own will and the aid of a devoted nature magic caster the sanctuary was surrounded by thick and thorny brambles that sealed the sanctuary from the outside world.

After the war was over and the truce had brought peace, the tree continued to grow and thrive. Every year the tree blossmed and was a sight to behold from afar, brilliant shimmering leaves that were soft like feathers and at night would glow like the stars. Though many tried no one could ever get close, the sanctuary barred any guests for fear of the tree being harmed. Trespassing was dangerous and many who ventured into the dark woods never came back out, or would find themselves on the completely opposite side of the forest with little memory as to how they got there. Each year those few that live in the sanctuary would carry baskets of seeds to spread across the land, but rarely would they sprout. Over the years it seemed that no other tree like Memoria would ever grow and the tree seemed to be suffering as it fell dormant and stopped blooming.

When the Crooks returned, the tree seemed to awaken as they brought with them a renewal of magic, but it wasn't until a Crook by the name of Angel Crypt arrived at the bramble wall. The thorns receded to welcome them and allowed the Crook entry.

After speaking with the elder of the sanctuary it was determined that the trees bloom was caused by the increasing magic energy and perhaps the seeds could grow when cared for by an individual who would wish for it to prosper as the very first caretaker did.

And what better way to show the world the beauty of Skire's magic than to allow visitors to take home a seed to care for? Perhaps in the care of others the sprouts could thrive.

Of the founding members only the Elder was still alive, but his new hive has all sworn to protect the magical creatures and plants that live there; some of which cannot be found anywhere else. So, naturally everyone was full of nervous excitement as the brambles pulled away to create a new entrance, and work began to ready the sanctuary for a festival.

Would people come? Would they be frightened by the creatures and plants there?

Would this really work?

The history of the sanctuary had been a little known trivia for some and others hardly knew it existed, but none could deny a spark of curiosity seeing a large cloud of blue blooms for the first time climbing into the sky above the dense forest.

It would remain a question until a mysterious flyer showed up on your doorstep to invite you to join the sanctuary for a festival celebrating skire's natural and magical beauty. The flyer reads:

"Greetings from the Forest Sanctuary!"

"We're thrilled and excited to invite you to join us for a festival! You may have noticed the glowing blue blooms above the forest and wondered what they were. Well that's our sacred tree beckoning for visitors to come and see the marvelous gifts she has to offer!"

"The Sanctuary will be open to visitors from the 1st to the 28th of February, so don't delay!"

"This will be a celebration of life, magic and creativity so bring your artistic talents, your crafts, your music and literature, and be rewarded with a seedling from the great tree to thank Skire for all of the wonders around us."

At the bottom, there's contact information for setting up a stall at the festival and other inquiries.

Will you go?

Festival Fun

The Tree Festival is a celebration of Skire’s magic and creativity. Many artists and crafters will bring their wares from all over, is your CCat/Crook an artisan? Do they have magic to demonstrate? Are they going to attend the festival or set up a booth? Or are they just going to see and enjoy all the sights? Show your CCCat/Crook enjoying the festival somehow! (Unless they're a party pooper, in which case show them causing some mischief or getting scolded by the Elder!)

Seed Gathering

At the end of the festival, the gathered magic causes Memoria to bloom and the seed pods to burst. Many have either purchased or hand made a basket to catch the falling seeds! Does your CCCat/Crook get a bunch, or do they maybe only catch one? Show your Skire character catching Seeds or alternatively planting the seeds either in a pot/planter at home or outside somewhere! Will it sprout under their care or are they not such a green thumb? How you care for your seed determines the shape and whether it grows tall and swirly or into a tangled ball of leaves.

Visiting Memoria

If you're a history buff or just really like signing guest books, around the back of the tree is a massive stone to show the sanctuary’s founding story and an endless magic scroll where anyone can write their name as a visitor to the tree. Does your Skire character sign their name, or spend some time reading the sanctuary's history?

NPC's and Volunteers

The Elder:

The Elder Matchas

The elder is a very old CCCat from the early days after Hell Lickers began to disappear.

He was rumored to be the brilliant Nature Magic caster that created the bramble wall, and he was said to be a towering being with lush leaves for a mane with flowers able to root and grow on his silken fur. However, after creating the bramble wall the magic was drained and the Elder hadn't been able to sprout a single leaf since. it's unclear if the tales are true or not and he's certainly not telling. He seems to like being the subject of such legendary tales. Regardless, he looks pretty worn and the explanation that he drained all his magic to protect his home and began to decay as a result might make sense… or perhaps he's just a fan of the wise old man aesthetic.

Still, he's an odd fellow who loves a good joke and even poking fun at his own expense. He's also full of knowledge and experience and more than happy to tell stories but be careful about agreeing to such tales from him as some of them are decades long!

Piper and Pipin:

The News CCCrew

A young news reporter and camera operator, Piper (CCCat) and Pipin (Crook) have been dying to get the scoop on this exclusive opportunity to document the inside of the sanctuary!

They're interviewing anyone and everyone and filming everything they can. both are highly energetic and curious about everything, total dorks with a passion for sharing the things they learn with the world. These two would give a snail race the same coverage as any other news story and give their all to every story.
